Text Box:  Printing Annex pages from 72-121 through the code book’s Index, page 72-272.
(Note:  Following these directions does NOT include printing Proposal forms & Interpretation pages)

Simple, single-sided printing:
Print pages 124-275 and choose single-sided printing.  It will take 151 sheets of paper.

Duplex printing:
Save a tree.  It may be impossible to print your NFPA 72 duplex style (double sided) automatically.  There seems to be something about the FileOpen process and/or NFPA's .PDF settings that prevent this.  Two sided printing can be done manually, however!

Manual two-sided printing process, in four steps:
This process is only for printers that print on the back of the paper when looking at the paper lying in the tray (it flips it over when going through the printer.)
This methods prints in four steps since many printers limit how many pages can be pasted into the PAGES box.

STEP ONE: With the .PDF open, click FILE, then PRINT.  Under PAGE RANGE select PAGES:      In the PAGES:  box, copy and paste the page numbers below as is, with no spaces between numbers and no comma at either end and click “Print”.  The color of the numbers doesn't matter. (Select your printer and set your print quality as you normally would for any .PDF.  Heavier paper works best.)   Do NOT check “Reverse Order”.

LAST HALF OF ANNEX:
225,227,229,231,233,235,237,239,241,243,245,247,249,251,253,255,257,259,261,263,265,267,269,271,273,275

STEP TWO:  After the first batch prints, the last page printed (Page 72-272) should be on top.

Then... (NOTE:  If your printer printed on the side of the paper that faced up, reshuffle the pages to arrange them front to back before printing the second side)

After placing the newly printed pages back in the printer tray, facing up (looking down at page number 72-272) so the backs will be printed when the printer feeds the pages through and turns them upside down, copy and paste the page numbers below as is, with no spaces between numbers and no comma at either end and click “Print”.  Make sure to place the pages into the tray so that the top of the page is feed through first or the backs will be printed upside down!

274,272,270,268,266,264,262,260,258,256,254,252,250,248,246,244,242,240,238,236,234,232,230,228,226,224
After both sides of all pages have been printed, they should be in the correct order.

Text Box:
PRINTING THE FIRST HALF OF ANNEX:
STEPS THREE AND FOUR:  Follow the above instructions and print the FIRST HALF OF THE ANNEX material using the two sets of page numbers below:

 First...
125,127,129,131,133,135,137,139,141,143,145,147,149,151,153,155,157,159,161,163,165,167,169,171,173,175,177,179,181,183,185,187,189,191,193,195,197,199,201,203,205,207,209,211,213,215,217,219,221,223

Then...
222,220,218,216,214,212,210,208,206,204,202,200,198,196,194,192,190,188,186,184,182,180,178,176,174,172,170,168,166,164,162,160,158,156,154,152,150,148,146,144,142,140,138,136,134,132,130,128,126,124

FINALLY...
Assemble both halves of the Annex material to show pages 72-121 through the last page of the Index 72-272.  NOTE:  the Adobe page numbers do not match the printed NFPA page numbers (72 - ##).  Adobe adds three to NFPA’s page number so that if you wish to print what NFPA has marked as being page “72-100” in the code book, then Adobe will have to be told to print page 103.  Pasting even numbers into the “PAGES” box will print the odd pages, etc.      The above printing instructions take this into consideration.

Punch holes on the opposite side of the page that the page numbers are printed on.  (NFPA’s page numbers must be on the outside edge of each page, opposite the binding.)
Place these in the binder after the Classroom Edition© pages we printed for you.
